For FamiliesFor Families

This book is really an "emotional boot camp" for families, and, like any boot camp, it will require work that is demanding and rewarding. If followed, it will result in a new level of self-esteem, confidence, and belonging. It is the beginning of a new awareness of the importance of the family, and provides detailed plans for a lifestyle that places God, family and country first. It is about reclaiming our best selves, and it is impossible to do that without taking care of our children. We can heal the longing that absent fatherhood causes for everyone involved: fathers, mothers, and children.

The book is intended to help all members of a "broken" family to become whole. For the children, by reframing the familial "myths" about their father, the stories in this book will help heal those abandoned as youngsters. Many children do not know the pain and frustration their fathers suffered over them and subsequently have no framework with which to judge the circumstances that surround their father's departure. Hearing fathers in this book tell their stories may provide a new perspective and understanding for many of them, and eventually allow for their father to tell his story. This is an important component of my program.
